In the last few year, emoji have swept America by storm, and become a mainstay of digital communication. This prompted Domino's to make it possible for customers to actually order pizza using the pizza emoji, in both a text or a tweet.
Emoji's permeation of society, however, brought to light a very real and arguably serious issue that not a lot of people like to talk about: emoji illiteracy.
For more information about emoji illiteracy and free sets of emoji flashcards, visit http://www.emojiliteracy.com. With your help, Domino's can turn their :( into :).
To combat the growing "problem," Domino's launched EmojiLiteracy.com to give hope and provide answers to those struggling to comprehend an increasingly emoji-dependent world. The site contains a tongue-in-cheek PSA, raising awareness about the importance of Emoji Literacy. And because Domino's truly believes that a world without emoji is a world no one should have to live in, we created physical decks of emoji flashcards and distributed them for free on the site to those who need them most.
We gave away all 10,000 decks but you can still download a PDF of the flashcards here.
